ISA Server 2006 Virtualization Licensing

Overview

Virtual Machine (VM) technology can provide a number of significant benefits to the organization, including optimized hardware utilization, better business continuity, and a more agile infrastructure. With VM technology, one can extend hardware infrastructure by running multiple operating system environments on a single server or other hardware system. Microsoft has developed licensing models that enable to take advantage of the benefits and capabilities of VM technology. This paper provides an overview of ISA Server 2006 licensing and addresses some common scenarios to help to better understand how to license ISA Server 2006 in virtual environments.
