| In 2005, Unilever launched an upgrade of its computing infrastructure under the program name Odyssey. The project team for Unilever in Africa, the Middle East, and Turkey (AMET) needed a deployment solution that could upgrade the operating systems and software on more than 9,000 computers in 30 countries. The desktop migration from Windows NT version 4.0 and Microsoft Office 97 to Windows XP Professional and Microsoft Office Professional 2003 required that specialized user settings in several different languages be retained. Unilever 'AMET' turned to the Microsoft Solution Accelerator for Business Desktop Deployment to achieve its goals, which helped achieve the migration goals while enabling faster configuration and troubleshooting for computer lifecycle management.
