Overview
This paper introduces the reader to two Linux applications that the reader use with the web. The idea is to let the reader know these applications exist, to tell the reader what one can do, and to show the reader the basics of using them. The first application is the Firefox browser, which is enormously popular and gaining widespread use on Windows as a safe replacement for Internet Explorer. If one not already using Firefox, one might want to switch to it on both Linux and Windows. In mid-2004 the U.S. Government's Computer Emergency Response Team advised users to stop running Internet Explorer because of its security flaws.
