Project Management: Managing the Integration and Creation of a Supplier Extranet

Overview

MDI's client is a large division of a Fortune 100 corporation, posting revenues of over $20 billion in 2002 and is one of the world's leading suppliers to the energy industry, providing a comprehensive range of solutions for oil and gas, power generation and energy management. The client has made a wide-scale commitment to increasing their internal productivity through "digitization". The focus of this project is to create tighter linkages with the client's supplier base by creating a Supplier Extranet that integrates the sourcing and procurement systems. In order to support the demanding project management activity on this project, MDI provided the methodology, tools and templates to effectively implement the integration of 17 supplier extranet applications.
