Overview

Nederlandse Algemene Keuringsdienst (NAK) provides inspection services for agricultural seed and seed potatoes on behalf of the Dutch Minister of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality. NAK wanted to streamline applications and eliminate unnecessary overlaps, as each crop type has its own applications despite many similarities. They wanted to improve speed and efficiency of application maintenance to stay compliant with constantly changing government regulations and update Oracle software and ensure that obsolete versions are no longer in use. NAK implemented a service-oriented architecture based on Oracle 10g technology, making it easier to make changes as well as establish connections with other parties and applications and used Oracle BPEL to streamline processes and make information accessible in new ways.
