Berufsgenossenschaft Nahrungsmittel und Gaststatten (BGN) is the national statutory accident insurance and prevention institute for the food services and catering industry in Germany. It would often take employees hours to track down specific files or documentation. Furthermore, the process was driving up personnel costs significantly. BGN needed a better approach that would enable it to comply with governmental regulations, improve efficiency and reduce costs. The company realized that a business process transformation of such massive scope would require professional help. IBM Global Business Services designed and implemented a robust new electronic document management system using Captiva Input Accel software and IBM Content Manager archive software.
