Performance Characterization of a Microsoft ASP.NET Web Service on HP Integrity Servers

Overview

This paper describes the performance of HP Integrity servers running a Microsoft ASP.NET web service. After providing an overview of test objectives, solutions, and the methodology used by HP to characterize server performance when running an ASP.NET web service, this paper outlines the test applications and environment used to gather data. An HP Integrity server running on Intel Itanium 2 processors provides the ideal basis for a powerful ASP.NET web services platform. When integrated with a database server - another HP Integrity server connected to an HP StorageWorks storage array - this platform delivers a flexible and reliable framework that can scale to implement a wide range of infrastructures, growing as the customer's needs for web services grow.
