Fast and efficient access to the Internet is critical for the over 59,000 employees of Cognizant, which provides consulting, information technology, and business process outsourcing services to customers around the world. In view of the company's rapid growth, the IT department wanted to find a proxy server technology that would be scalable and easier to manage. Working with Microsoft Services, Cognizant replaced its older proxy server software with Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2006, part of the Forefront line of business security products. The deployment improved overall Web performance for users, helped boost productivity, provided more protection from Internet-based threats, and optimized existing bandwidth.
