Overview

The loosely coupled nature of SOA lets IT organizations combine new code with existing applications to develop composite applications that can respond quickly to changes in the business. With SOA, existing software modules or applications are encapsulated and exposed publicly as services. Composite application developers then use these services to create new applications. Unfortunately, this shift in the application development paradigm also creates new management challenges. This white paper highlights the management challenges of SOA-based composite applications, explains why conventional management approaches do not properly address these challenges, and highlights Oracle's unique approach to meeting these challenges.
