Tekna Automates Management of 70 Microsites to Save Time and Expand Collaboration for Its 50,000 Members

Overview

Tekna wanted to simplify the registration and maintenance of more than 50,000 members by providing self-service functionality. The challenge was to reduce the resources required to launch Web sites for technical groups and help industry groups collaborate and communicate more effectively using online tools. Tekna implemented Oracle Portal, integrated with the Oracle Database-based member system, to create a template for rapidly launching new self-service collaborative Web sites for technical groups and members and established 70 microsites for departments and technical groups using Oracle Portal, which can be maintained independently by users, reducing the burden on IT staff.
