Overview
In 2009, Super Bowl XLIII drew nearly a quarter million visitors to Tampa, Florida, but security planning started long before game day. Tampa police needed a solution that would comply with the National Incident Management System (NIMS), which takes a systematic approach to incident management and collaboration among multiple jurisdictions and organizations. The solution the Tampa Police Department chose for Super Bowl XLIII includes technology from Microsoft and three of its partners: E.SPONDER, Infusion Development, and Twisted Pair, Inc. The solution, developed by E.SPONDER, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, is a comprehensive command-and-control platform based on Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, which provides a real-time collaboration portal that users can access over the Internet and enter through a graphical interface.
