TANDBERG AudioScience- Theory and Operation | 2009-06-18 | Tandberg |
| The TANDBERG AudioScience microphone is a ceiling microphone designed specifically for use in Videoteleconferencing and Distance Learning environments. It consists of a Crown PZMR microphone attached to a boundary specifically shaped to optimize the Frequency response, Polar response, and reach of the microphone assembly. Also, the combination of those parameters enhances the performance of some echo cancelers, and results in some "natural" automatic gain control functions.

TANDBERG Gateway and IP | 2009-06-17 | Tandberg |
| H.323 is an International Telecommunications Union (ITU) standard that describes the protocols, services and equipment necessary for multimedia communications including audio, video and data on networks without guaranteed Quality of Service (QoS). These networks technologies may include Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, and Token Ring and protocols like Internet Protocol (IP) or Integrated Packet Exchange (IPX). Due to the need to communicate between smaller networks connected to the Internet, IP will be a more popular transport for H.323. Today, the dominant method of Internet communications is email. However, there is a growing need to increase communications to include audio, video and data. The explosion of the Internet in the early 1990's has paved the way to higher bandwidth connections to corporate offices, universities and even to the home. Now that the bandwidth is available, the demand for multimedia communications over the Internet is growing. G1 is TANDBERG's first release for the TANDBERG Gateway.

Power-Aware FPGA Design | 2009-02-01 | Actel |
| Power consumption requirements in new, autonomous, multimedia-savvy consumer products that can store, transmit, and receive information have catapulted system architects and board and chip designers into a new realm. Even when designers attempted to reduce system power consumption, their approaches were not comprehensive and focused enough to achieve optimal results. The goal of this paper is to examine each design step and component of system power with the purpose of providing techniques to reduce wasteful power consumption. These techniques cover system partitioning, chip design, and board layout. The proposed design techniques cover RTL coding, arithmetic architecture power-profiling, and place-and-route hints. Some of these techniques may seem antiquated, but they have been revisited to fit the profile of applications required by most of the new consumer products targeting low-power FPGAs.
