whitepaper Meeting Scalability Requirements for Enterprise Reporting Solutions2003-12-01 Actuate Corporation
Corporate Web sites have grown up. Evolving from their somewhat humble origins as "Electronic storefronts" for distributing static company and product information to external audiences, today's enterprise Web sites have a much broader set of goals. Many serve up customized intranet portals for internal sales, R&D, marketing, accounting, operations, and other departments. Still others also deliver customized extranet portals for partners, suppliers, distributors, and customers. And many of these sites are integrated with private or public e-business hubs or trading exchanges to enable the company to interact with all of its trading partners seamlessly via the Web.

whitepaper Putting Your Intranet to Work: 50 Ideas for Department-Specific Applications2002-11-19 Numotion

It is up to business managers and IS professionals, working together, to lead the company to the Intranet. This paper includes information to help business managers and IS professionals assume a leadership role in demonstrating the value and problem-solving capabilities of this new technology.

This paper describes experience with the developed of tools for CL education using Java. Some are standalone Java applets and others are clients which connect to a parsing server using a LISP-based backend. The principal benefits are platform independence and reusability rather than world-wide web access, although intranet technology reduces the need for special purpose labs.

whitepaper Management Intranet: Integrating Web-Based Network Management Applications2002-05-10 Cisco Systems
An approach to integrating web-based network and device management applications is described which relies upon a centralized repository containing information about managed devices, management applications, users and the privileges which the users have to manipulate these devices and applications. This paper facilitates the creation of a secure, easy-to-use set of cooperating applications, which enable the user to conveniently manage large groups of network infrastructure devices such as routers and switches from one single point of access.
whitepaper The Impact of the Extranet on Channel Communications and Relationships2001-11-19 University of Gloucestershire
Whilst suppliers realise that sustainable competitive advantages in distribution channels can be created through long-term relationships with valued distributors, they might not be fully aware of the difficulties in obtaining such a relationship. While the successful deployment of intranets has opened the door to the development of extranets, could extranets assist the collaboration between channel members and improve their communication efficiency which would ultimately lead to better channel relationships? This paper begins with the literature on communication and its links to trust, commitment, co-operation and conflict and then turns to examine how an extranet impacts on communications between channel members. This paper, then, proposes a model to explore the impact of extranet on supplier-distributor relationships.

whitepaper Building a SAS Intranet Site2001-07-28 PRA International
Intranets are now common in both large and small organizations. These internal websites provide a way to present vast quantities of information in an organized and searchable form. This paper describes the construction and implementation of an intranet site developed by the Analysis Programming staff of PRA International in Charlottesville, VA. Methods for content development and display of SAS coding examples are illustrated. Management of SAS coding projects is discussed in terms of how a database-driven website can increase the efficiency of a programming team and lead to a better deliverable product. It is hoped that this paper will stimulate discussion on how intranets may better serve SAS programmers in the pharmaceutical and other industries.

whitepaper Microsoft Case Study: HR Web2000-07-15 Microsoft
HR Web is a secure intranet site that provides Microsoft employees with secure access to various benefit enrollment forms, support for investment programs, retirement savings planning, and healthcare.
