Solution Design in WebSphere Process Server and WebSphere ESB: Part 2 | 2009-08-12 | IBM |
| Part 1 of this series described how Service-Oriented Architectures (SOAs) mature through a number of stages, and showed what solution styles are used at each level. This paper focuses on the advancements made moving from Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) to Service Exposition, in other words from Service Integration Maturity Model (SIMM) level 3 to 4. This paper will discuss what it means to expose a mature service on an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), and look at the features one might use from WebSphere Process Server (hereafter called Process Server) or WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus (WESB).

Small Enterprise Integration-VAR Solutions | 2009-03-15 | Cabinet NG |
| Often, implementation of an enterprise class application such as document management software does not gain wide use within a company, organizational acceptance, or full return on investment without tying the entire business process together. For these three elements to be realized, it is often necessary to complete the puzzle by integration with third party applications such as accounting software, personnel management applications, or other line of business software products. This paper will elaborate on some integration points and demonstrate the value add of integrating line of business applications with document management software.

Advances in a DSL for Application Integration | 2008-09-09 | Universidad de Sevilla |
| Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) is currently one of the big challenges for Software Engineering. According to a recent report, for each dollar spent on developing an application, companies usually spend from 5 to 20 dollars to integrate it. This paper proposes a Domain Specific Language (DSL) for designing application integration solutions. It builds on the experience on two real-world integration projects.

Dynamic Data Mediation in Enterprise Application Integration | 2008-07-09 | National Technical University of Athens |
| If one tries to increase the level of automation in Business-to-Business Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) scenarios, one confronts challenges related to the resolution of data and message heterogeneities - that traditional, syntactic EAI technologies are weak to solve, as they miss the documentation of the semantics related to the interfaces and the data structures of the participating services. This paper proposes a semantically-enriched approach for dynamic data mediation in EAI scenarios, based on Ontologies, Semantic Web and Semantic Web Services Technologies.

Implementing Enterprise Integration With Mule ESB | 2008-06-10 | JupiterMedia |
| The sum of the Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) is greater than its parts. While one can - often quite easily - implement one's own adapters for enterprise services, a pre-packaged product that comes with a tested, documented, and standardized set of adapters for almost any common enterprise service is often a better solution. When time to market and future adaptability are the priorities, an ESB is the way to go. However, commercial ESB products can often be quite expensive, particularly when adapters are sold separately at very high prices - which often is the case. This paper practically demonstrates how to use Mule ESB to implement a common business scenario: integrating an email-based ordering front end (POP3) with a service-oriented (RESTful), relational order-processing back end.
