Oracle Enterprise Messaging Service | 2005-09-01 | Oracle |
| Building, integrating, and maintaining distributed applications are often costly and time-consuming projects. These projects typically involve a combination of new development on a proven messaging infrastructure as well as integration with an existing heterogeneous messaging infrastructure. The Oracle Enterprise Messaging Service provides a comprehensive messaging environment built on open standards for developing, integrating, and deploying applications in a SOA based environment. This proven technology provides you the performance, scalability, and reliability numerous enterprise customers have come to rely upon.

Oracle ADF Mobile | 2005-09-01 | Oracle |
| With the release of Oracle Application Server 10g R3 (10.1.3), Oracle introduces Application Development Framework Mobile (ADF Mobile), a new standards-based framework for rapidly developing enterprise mobile applications. Built upon the component model of Java Server Faces (JSF), ADF Mobile allows J2EE developers to quickly build applications for PDA browsers, 2-way messaging devices and industrial handheld devices running Telnet. Together with ADF Mobile, JDeveloper provides comprehensive support for JSF and mobile development including WYSIWYG design-time preview for ADF Mobile applications.

How J2CA Adapters Fit in an SOA World: A Real-World Case Study | 2005-09-01 | Oracle |
| Service-Oriented Architecture represents a fundamental shift in the way new applications are being designed and developed, and the way in which they are being integrated with existing legacy systems and business applications. J2EE Connector Architecture (J2CA) complements Web Services and BPEL in an SOA world to facilitate enterprise integration. Being J2EE 1.4 compliant, Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3 (10.1.3) supports J2CA and other SOA standards and solutions, provides the industry's most complete, productive, open, and mission critical Service-Oriented Architecture platform. This white paper gives an overview of the development and integration experience with BeanConnect on Oracle Application Server, covering areas such as connection pooling, transaction, deployment, management, and Web Services integration.

Unlocking Your Important Information Assets, Using Oracle Fusion Middleware and Oracle Adapters | 2005-09-01 | Oracle |
| The core information assets of an enterprise are it's backend applications. These applications are heterogeneous in nature, come from different vendors and are based of different technologies and run on different platforms leading to a fragmented enterprise. Oracle Adapters, a component of Oracle Fusion Middleware, offers organizations a service orientated approach to unlocking the information assets that have evolved in most IT environments. Using standards based on the J2EE platform, these adapters are available to all components of Oracle Fusion Middleware. This paper describes the Oracle Adapter features, it's architecture and how the Adapters in combination with other Oracle Fusion Middleware products help in building an agile, real-time enterprise.

BMC Performance Manager for Websphere Application Server - Best Practices | 2005-08-20 | BMC Software |
| This paper covers best practices for BMC Performance Manager for WebSphere Application Server. This paper focuses on how to manage primary components of the WebSphere Application Server with BMC Performance Manager, including the ten most important WebSphere-related parameters to monitor. This paper does not go into detail on some other components of a J2EE transaction, such as browsers, networks, and HTTP servers. Also, this paper will not cover advanced J2EE techniques, such as profiling, JAVA Management Extensions (JMX), and byte-code instrumentation.

BMC Performance Manager for Websphere Application Server - Advanced Best Practices | 2005-08-20 | BMC Software |
| This paper covers advanced best practices for BMC Performance Manager for WebSphere Application Server. The basic best practices approached J2EE management from a "stovepipe" approach, meaning each object involved in a J2EE transaction is examined individually for abnormal behavior. Whereas, the discussion in this paper outlines how to use BMC Performance Manager for WebSphere Application Server to manage J2EE transactions from a transaction viewpoint, rather than a stovepipe viewpoint.

Architecture-Based Autonomous Repair Management: An Application to J2EE Clusters | 2005-08-12 | French National Institute for Research in Computer Science and Control |
| This paper presents a component-based architecture for autonomous repair management in distributed systems, and a prototype implementation of this architecture, called JADE, which provides repair management for J2EE application server clusters. The JADE architecture features three major elements, which the paper believes to be of wide relevance for the construction of autonomic distributed systems: a dynamically configurable, component-based structure that exploits the reflective features of the FRACTAL component model; an explicit and configurable feedback control loop structure, that manifests the relationship between the managed system and repair management functions; an original replication structure for the management subsystem itself, which makes it fault-tolerant and self-healing.

A Distributed AOP System for J2EE Applications | 2005-08-05 | Tokyo Institute of Technology |
| As benefits of AOP are getting recognized, a few AOP systems, such as AspectWerkz, Spring AOP, and JBoss AOP, have been developed for the J2EE platform before. However, they are general-purpose AOP frameworks independent of J2EE. The language mechanisms provided by those AOP systems are basically ones inherited from AspectJ. To address these problems, the paper presents a new AOP system for J2EE, named DJcutter. By comparison with existing AOP systems, it is integrated into J2EE and provides AOP mechanisms designed for J2EE. First, DJcutter provides a new mechanism called remote pointcuts. Although a pointcut in AspectJ identifies execution points on the local host, a remote pointcut can identify them on a remote host transparently.

Architecture of Component-Based Information Systems Over the J2EE Platform | 2005-08-01 | UdelaR |
| Component-based development can be addressed from two different fronts, or more precisely, from two different levels. One of them regards the technology used for system implementation, and the other is a previous and more abstract level, where the focus is set to the logical structure of the solution and where technological issues are not considered. Model Driven Architecture promotes such separation by distinguishing platform independent models from platform specific models. In alignment with this approach, this paper proposes a mapping from the tiered and platform independent architecture for information systems resulting from the application of a widely known methodological approach, to the available constructs in the J2EE platform.
