| Based in Honolulu, Hawaii, Microsoft Gold Certified Partner DataHouse Consulting has been in the IT business for more than 30 years. Recently, DataHouse implemented a new student program management solution for Hawaii's Department of Education (DOE). The Web-based application is delivered through the software-plus-services model that combines software accessed by users over the Internet with on-premise desktop productivity software. DataHouse hosts and supports the Electronic Comprehensive Student Support System (eCSSS), the Microsoft .NET-connected online application that DOE uses to track interventions and support for its students. Employees use Microsoft Office Excel spreadsheet software or Adobe Acrobat to manage reports. Opening Access to Office Information With OOXML | 2008-10-20 | PSC Group |
| As the leading ratings expert in a media market, this company's production consisted of sorting and processing large amounts of data to create Microsoft Power Point presentations of charts and tables that clients used to sell advertising. The company wanted to find a way to manipulate an exponential increase in data to produce marketing products at a pace demanded by clients. The PSC developers created an OOXML solution that has the ability to build stand-alone applications that can access the contents of documents logically, without actually having to know the ins and outs of the format itself. Microsoft .NET Framework was used to create a control panel that both selected the files to load and to manipulate.

Shaw Group Boosts Developer Productivity 40 Percent, Meets Growing Business Needs | 2008-09-01 | Microsoft |
| The Shaw Group, a leading global provider of construction and related services, was growing rapidly - but its Java-based development platform hindered developers from being as productive as they could be to meet the demands of the business. So, the company migrated most of its software development to the Microsoft .NET Framework. Also, Shaw moved from a variety of application life-cycle management tools to Microsoft Visual Studio Team Foundation Server. By adopting the Microsoft platform and tools, Shaw increased development productivity by 40 percent and cut the time needed for specific functions, such as reporting, in half. The development team also has more confidence that it is releasing robust, high-quality applications that meet business needs.

Web Hosting Provider Enables Unprecedented Access to Services, Wows Customers | 2008-08-19 | Microsoft |
| No shared hosting service provider would agree to provide full server administrator privileges directly to customers - yet increasing numbers of customers at DiscountASP.NET wanted to modify their Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.0-based Web sites using parameters that required such privileges. DiscountASP.NET had built a set of tools accessible through a control panel that enabled indirect access to some of these parameters, but developing those tools was a complex and costly process. Under Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and IIS 7.0, though, DiscountASP.NET officials have found that they can use the Web server's feature delegation capabilities and ASP.NET enhancements to enable customer access to key Web service parameters quickly, securely, and more cost-effectively than ever.
