| The Direct Line is a motor Insurance Company. With the addition of the internet channel, Direct Line has had to think hard about how customer interactions are handled so that customers continue to receive the simple, convenient and speedy service they have come to expect. These considerations led to a strategic review of the company's IT systems, which resulted in a decision to implement a multi-channel operational business process architecture based on front-end eBusiness applications and an integration framework from Chordiant Software. Office Depot: A Destination for Office Supplies and E-Business Expertise - Building Multi-Touchpoint Relationships With Customers and Vendors by Integrating Business Processes | 0000-00-00 | IBM |
| Founded in 1986, Florida-based Office Depot has grown into one of the world's largest office supplies retailers, with 47,000 employees and customers in the US and 20 other countries. But in a maturing marketplace, Office Depot was facing rising costs and low margins. Opening and managing office supply superstores was an expensive strategy; more to the point, many customers were looking for more efficient ways to buy, particularly large organizations that preferred to buy in bulk. IBM Global Services analyzed aspects of Office Depot's e-business operations and showed how they could substantially improve customer responsiveness using an open-systems approach.

Mobile Commerce: The Future Starts with M2M Payments | 0000-00-00 | Unisys |
| Mobile operators could become “the bankers of the future.” Mobile operators already have large subscriber levels, perform millions of billable transactions a day, and most importantly, are trusted. The foundations of mobile commerce are currently being laid and the market is expected to take-off within the next few years. Many people have an interpretation of what mobile commerce will entail, however few have a shared view. For the sake of clarity, and because it is one of the first steps along the path to a comprehensive mobile commerce offering, this paper will concentrate solely on mobile-to-mobile (M2M) payments.

Business-to-Business EIPP: Presentment Models and Payment Options Part One: Presentment Models | 2001-01-25 | NACHA - Council for Electronic Billing and Payment |
| The purpose of this document is to provide an objective, educational tool on Internet-based Electronic Invoice Presentment and Payment (EIPP) in business-to-business transactions. It is intended to help businesses understand the different approaches
available, or emerging, in the market today. The authors believe that broader
understanding will drive adoption of EIPP. While some larger businesses have used Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) to automate business processes, the costs are prohibitive to many companies. The Internet is emerging as the venue for non-EDI businesses to automate inter-company transactions. Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment (EBPP) – the business-to-consumer (B2C) process by which bills are presented and paid through the Internet – is gradually becoming a standard tool for companies that regularly bill large numbers of individual consumers. Seven Steps to Digital Signature Implementation | 2001-01-02 | Gradkell Systems |
| According to an Aberdeen Group market survey, 98% of the Global 2000 organizations will be using a Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) before 2003 for business-to-business electronic commerce and Internet based financial applications. This explosive growth of public key infrastructure combined with recent “E-Sign” (Electronic Signature in Global and National Commerce Act) legislation and the increased awareness
for tighter security for on-line transactions, are fueling the need for a manageable method of implementing
digital signature technology in new and existing database applications. Digital signatures are not a digitized or bit-map representation of a handwritten signature, but an association of a digital or numeric code with a set of electronic data. Implementing digital signatures in relational database applications presents a unique set of challenges. When we talk about security technologies we typically think of encryption, authentication, authorization, access control, firewalls, intrusion detection, etc. These technologies focus on solving or preventing security problems related to the infrastructure upon which business applications run rather than the applications themselves. Occasionally, digital signatures are introduced but rarely at an application integration level. Instead, we see digital signatures, especially in the public key encryption and its associated infrastructure (PKI) environment, associated with the electronic signing of documents such as email messages, word processing documents, spreadsheets and data files.
