whitepaper How to Get Shapes0000-00-00 Microsoft
Visio has hundreds of shapes available - from basic shapes, such as circles, squares, and triangles, to the highly complex, such as buildings, servers, or even garden plans. With such a wide variety of shapes at the disposal, user might think it's a complicated task finding the shape he or she need. Not so. Visio offers several different ways to get shapes: Users can use the stencils associated with a specific template, users can browse for additional shapes, and users can search for shapes. This webcast will show how to get shapes in Visio.

whitepaper Position and Group Shapes0000-00-00 Microsoft
Visio diagram may contain loads of valuable information, but if it appears jumbled or disorganized, the result will be hard to understand as well as displeasing to the eye. That's why Visio offers a number of features designed to help to position shapes harmoniously on the page. This webcast will show how guides, grouping, and other features let precisely place and align shapes with only a minimum of clicking and dragging. User will save time and the diagrams will look more professional than ever.

whitepaper Add Text Boxes and Link Columns in Publisher 2003: Add and Customize Text Boxes0000-00-00 Microsoft
Publisher stores each block of text in a container called a text box. When the user creates a publication - for example, a newsletter - the text boxes become columns. The user can arrange and link the columns to create professional-looking publications. The attendee of this webcast will learn how to use text boxes to format a publication. The attendee will also see how easy it is to customize text boxes and format text.
whitepaper Augmented Symbology: A New Approach to Data Visualization2007-10-04 QinetiQ
Augmented visual tools are necessary in order to push information through the diversified domain of computing systems, especially when cross-cultural, complex ideas are involved. One area of communication that is relatively new and yet is perhaps the oldest relevant method of communication is symbology. Combined with new sophisticated visualization techniques made possible by advances in computing power and display characteristics, simplification through the use of symbology can help optimize situational awareness, reducing the complexity of displays thereby enhancing a users' ability. With combinations of symbol sets, aggregation is possible and can be expressed in indicators providing both trending and predictive visuals.

whitepaper UML Models to CSP Models in MOMENT2-GT2007-09-16 University of Leicester
MOMENT2 is an algebraic model management framework that permits manipulating models in the Eclipse Modeling Framework (EMF). The goal consists in using OMG standards, such as Meta-Object Facility (MOF), Object Constraint Language and Query/View/Transformation (QVT), as a clean interface between formal methods and model-based industrial tools that permits taking the best benefit from both at the lowest cost. In particular, the paper deals with Rewriting Logic (rl for short) and Graph Transformations on the one hand, and with Model-Driven Technology on the other hand. MOMENT2-GT constitutes an extension of MOMENT2 that provides support for graph-based transformations. The syntax for defining graph patterns is directly based on the QVT Relations language.

whitepaper Predicting Parts Demand in the Automotive Industry - An Application of Probabilistic Graphical Models0000-00-00 T-Online International
This paper presents an application of probabilistic graphical models to the problem of predicting parts demand in the automotive industry. When the production of vehicles is induced by individual orders of customers and distributed on a large number of factories located in different regions of the world, production and capacity management becomes a very challenging problem to solve. The calculation of parts demand is a complex field with high-dimensional dependency relations, which requires efficient solutions. Based on a Markov network model, a system for item planning and demand estimation is described, which was in the phase of final development and implementation.
