MSDN Webcast: What's New for Device Developers in Device Emulator 3.0 (Level 200) | 2007-11-15 | Microsoft |
| With the new version of the Microsoft Visual Studio development system, device developers can make use of the many new features to develop applications for Windows Mobile powered devices. In this webcast the attendee will learn about the new enhancements to Device Emulator 3.0. It shows how the Device Emulator allows targeting multiple devices with different form factors during testing of application. The webcast also show how to configure the Device Emulator using the Device Emulator Manager to meet specific device requirements.

MobiNet: A Scalable Emulation Infrastructure for Ad Hoc and Wireless Networks | 0000-00-00 | Duke University |
| The current state of the art in evaluating applications and communication protocols for ad hoc wireless networks usually involves either simulation or small-scale live deployment. Larger-scale live deployment is typically costly and difficult to run under controlled circumstances. Simulation allows more flexibility in varying system configurations, but requires the duplication of application and network behavior within the simulator. While simulation and live deployment will clearly continue to play important roles in the evaluation of mobile systems, the paper presents MobiNet, a third point in this space.

Current-Mode Modeling for Peak, Valley and Emulated Control Methods | 2007-08-01 | National Semiconductor |
| Current-mode operation: An ideal current-mode converter is only dependent on the dc or average inductor current. The inner current loop turns the inductor into a voltage-controlled current source, effectively removing the inductor from the outer voltage control loop at dc and low frequency. The modulator gain is dependent on the effective slope of the ramp presented to the modulating comparator input. Each operating mode will have a unique characteristic equation for the modulator gain. The requirement for slope compensation is dependent on the relationship of the average current to the value of current at the time when the sample is taken. For fixed-frequency operation, if the sampled current were equal to the average current, there would be no requirement for slope compensation.

MSDN Webcast: An Overview of Device Emulator 2.0 (Level 200) | 2007-05-09 | Microsoft Tips |
| The Windows Mobile 6 Software Development Kit (SDK) ships with a new Microsoft Device Emulator. In addition to being much faster than its predecessor, Microsoft Device Emulator version 2.0 has many new capabilities to emulate different device states, including the ability to emulate running on batteries. Being a true Advanced RISC Machine (ARM) emulator, the Device Emulator 2.0 runs the same code as real devices. The presenter of this webcast takes an in-depth look at using the Device Emulator version 2.0 during application development. The presenter explores how to cradle the emulator, run the emulator on battery power, and use the emulator to test the phone capabilities of the application.

Connecting the Symbian OS Emulator to the Internet Using Ethernet | 2004-07-01 | Symbian |
| This paper shows how to set up the Symbian OS Emulator to connect to the Internet using the host PC's Ethernet card. If one works with applications/middleware software requiring Internet connectivity, one should consider this method (a comparison of the alternative solutions is given in section 2). Support for Ethernet-based connectivity has been in the platform since Symbian OS v7.0, but was never widely publicised; mainly because the driver and Communications database (CommDb) configuration was more difficult than other connection mechanisms. The zip package supplied with this paper delivers tools to simplify the Ethernet setup, including improved drivers, a Perl script to automate the driver configuration, and reference CommDb configuration files.
