Overview

Holmbergs wanted to consolidate storage, improve backup, serve a mixed Windows/Mac environment, and speed up file access. The company deployed HP NAS unified network storage solution, including an HP ProLiant DL380 G4 Storage Server, an HP Modular Smart Array (MSA), HP Ultra320 SCSI disk storage enclosure, HP StorageWorks SSL1016 Ultrium 460 tape autoloader, and HP ProLiant DL320 and DL360 servers. As a result there was a projected, cumulative five-year net benefit of $326,231, driven by improved productivity and IT savings. The project has an ROI of 526%, and a payback period of seven months. Holmbergs has consolidated its storage, decreased the number of its servers, and placed all of its file sharing in one location.
