Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Using Oracle Real Application Clusters on IBM BladeCenter Running Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 and IBM System Storage DS3400

Overview

This paper discusses the necessary steps to prepare for and successfully install Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 32-bit and Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition with Oracle Real Application Clusters 32-bit on IBM BladeCenter servers and IBM System Storage disks. The operating system environment described is the 2.6 kernel-based Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 (RHEL5). The purpose of this paper is to assist those who are looking to implement Oracle's Real Application Clusters (RAC) on RHEL5 running on IBM BladeCenter servers and IBM System Storage products.
