Danish Online Services Provider Simplifies IT Management and Consolidates 50 Servers Onto 4 Machines With Virtualization

Overview

Zitcom is an online services provider based in Denmark. Zitcom was burdened by an unplanned proliferation of 50 physical servers in its datacenter. The servers were not being used effectively and were consuming high quantities of electricity. Zitcom wanted to introduce a more reliable and energy-efficient solution that was easier to maintain. Zitcom worked with Dell to design a solution that consolidated the server and storage environment. This solution consists of VMware Infrastructure 3 Datacenter management and optimisation software, four Dell PowerEdge blade servers and a Dell | EMC Storage Area Network (SAN). Dell, EMC and VMware collaborate closely to ensure that these virtual infrastructure solutions are production-ready.
