whitepaper SAN and NAS Combine to Deliver a Comprehensive Storage Solution at the GRZ IT Center0000-00-00 Hitachi
Founded in 1971, the GRZ IT Center in Linz has grown to become one of the largest and most successful IT systems houses in Austria. In order to facilitate business expansion and support their strategic objectives, GRZ IT Center had to overcome a number of challenges and limitations within their storage and server infrastructure. Hitachi Data Systems proposed a solution that combined SAN and NAS technologies based upon two Lightning 9970V storage systems. Brocade Silkworm fibre channel switches and a Hitachi Data Systems/NetApp Enterprise GF960 NAS Gateway. This approach integrated the flexibility and capability of a SAN with the functionality of a NAS.

whitepaper NETGEAR Case Study: Edith Meyer Wedding Cakes0000-00-00 Netgear
Although flour and sugar are the most obvious ingredients of a small business like Edith Meyer Wedding Cakes, data also plays an important role. From recipes and digital photos of each original creation to client information, billing and contracts, Edith Meyer relies on the survival and safety of their data. The risk of losing that data is why Edith Meyer decided to make the leap from single USB hard drive storage to Network Attached Storage (NAS). Edith Meyer was looking for active storage with the added safety of RAID (Redundant Array of Independent or Inexpensive Disks). ReadyNAS NV+ was a cost-effective way for Edith Meyer to get data redundancy without the performance detriment of software RAID.

whitepaper Hewlett-Packard Case Study: Microsoft Internal Internet Service Provider0000-00-00 Hewlett-Packard (HP)
The Microsoft Internal Provider delivers Internet Service Provider (ISP) services to internal clients. To rapidly accommodate increased usage, Microsoft Internal Provider found it necessary to add storage to existing servers or acquire more servers. Such an approach created additional management complexity and did not provide the long-term solutions they were looking for. In order to achieve greater scalability and manageability, Microsoft Internal Provider wanted to move to a model where Web server content could be consolidated into a centralized storage solution. They explored the possibility of a SAN, but instead chose a Hewlett-Packard Network Attached Storage (NAS) solution powered by the Windows Storage Server 2003, because it was the most cost effective, scalable and easy-to-manage option.

whitepaper Security Bank of Kansas City0000-00-00 Plasmon
Security Bank of Kansas City is part of a multi-bank holding company located in Wyandotte County. Having worked for more than 25 years in the financial industry, Dean Foster, VP of Data Processing for Security Bank, questioned the vendors about archival quality and the backup of images placed into RAID systems, as well as future growth capacity within a fixed disk technology. When Foster reviewed available write-once optical storage options, he was very excited about a technology available from Plasmon, Ultra Density Optical (UDO). Since the Silhouette software worked with Pegasus InveStore, UDO was a supported option within the system already being used.
