TOKYO--Fujitsu Ltd, Japan's biggest business computer maker, plans to partner with General Electric Co on medical systems to enable information exchange over the Internet. The companies plan to develop electronic medical charts through a combination of Fujitsu's medical information system with GE's magnetic resonance imaging technology, Nikkei English News said, without citing sources. GE spokesman Patrick Jarvis declined to comment.

The companies will also cooperate in marketing the systems by initially focusing on Japan, where Fujitsu has 40 percent of the medical system market, before expanding to the US and Europe. Two partners may to form a joint venture in the future, NEN said.
