US-based Netfish is a provider of Extensible Markup Language (XML)-based B2B process collaboration solutions.
In a statement today, Comex said it would be using Netfish's XDI technology as its infrastructure platform for its logistics solutions. The first phase of the joint effort is said to be in progress.
According to Netfish's Web site, its XDI server for instance, manages the translation, delivery and workflow of XML business documents.
"It (Comex) will be embedding Netfish product components into its solutions and extending these to customers, based on their integration requirements," Comex said. It hopes to provide "an open and scalable e-commerce solution that allows seamless integration with a customer's enterprise applications".
When contacted, a Comex spokesperson claimed its alliance with Netfish makes the former the only value-added reseller for Netfish in Southeast Asia.
Comex's customers in the region include PartsOut.com, an e-marketplace that trades in automobile parts and accessories, Maybank, Public Bank and International Factors (Singapore) Ltd, an online transaction e-marketplace.
Comex has currently about 80 employees in its Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan and Indonesia offices, the Singapore-based spokesperson said.
Comex was launched in March 1999 by Visa International, Venture TDF Pte Ltd and the Info-communications Development Authority of Singapore or IDA.
