SINGAPORE--Intentia International, a provider of e-Collaboration solutions within the enterprise software space, has opened a direct office in Hong Kong with a view to providing backup and support to Hong Kong’s growing customer base, particularly in the fashion and apparel industry.

Intentia regional director for Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Taiwan David Hope explained that the imminent entry of China into the World Trade Organization has created a need for a better distribution channel. This is especially since Hong Kong is one of the capitals of fashion in terms of manufacturing and distribution.

The key focus of the Hong Kong office is to market and implement the company’s enterprise management software, Movex Fashion. Evolving from an Enterprise Resource Planning background, the software is designed to meet the specific demands of the fashion industry.

The company has already had a direct presence in Asia Pacific, with principal offices in Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, China, Australia and New Zealand.

Intentia International reported a strong growth for the first nine months of 2001 even as economic slump continues to depress the worldwide market.
