Paul Chan
Paul Chan, who is also senior vice president of HP's technology solutions group (TSG) in the region, has decided to step down from his roles from Apr. 30 this year, according to a statement Tuesday.
Chan has resigned to spend time with his family and embark on community work, a HP spokesperson told ZDNet Asia. She added that there will not be any structural changes within HP's local office after Chan's departure.
Chan will be succeeded by Tom Iannotti, HP's current senior vice president of business operations for the company's global TSG. Iannotti was responsible for driving financial and operational performance across TSG’s businesses and regions, according to the company.
Said Ann Livermore, executive vice president of HP's global TSG: "I want to thank Paul for his leadership in [the] Asia-Pacific [region] and Japan over the past several years. He led the region in simultaneously delivering consistent revenue growth and executing several major business transformations."
She added: "Tom is a highly respected and experienced senior leader with an impressive track record running HP businesses in both the Americas and the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) regions during his 24 years at HP. Over the next month, Tom and Paul will work together to achieve a successful transition for our customers and employees."
Chan was managing director of Compaq Computer Asia Pacific before the company's merger with HP, and was involved with Compaq's mergers with Tandem Computers in 1997 and Digital Equipment in 1998.
