KUALA LUMPUR--Lexmark Malaysia is unaffected by layoffs and it's business as usual, said its general manager, David Kok.

Kok clarified today stating that the 900 job cuts by Lexmark, as reported earlier, is confined only to its manufacturing facility. "We have been experiencing double digit growth rate in Malaysia ever since we set up a presence here in 1997," he added.

Lexmark Malaysia focuses on two major markets segments, the corporate market, selling laser printer in both color and monochrome specifications as well as in the consumer market with its inkjet range of printers.

The inkjet and laser printer maker has Hewlett-Packard (HP), Epson, Canon, NEC and Xerox as its competitors.
