SINGAPORE--StarHub Pte Ltd marked the first anniversary of its IDD Empowerment Fund today by donating 437 wheelchairs to 21 community associations here.

Some of the beneficiaries include the Assisi Home & Hospice, Ling Kwang Home for Senior Citizens, Ren Ci Hospital & Medicare Centre, Singapore Cancer Society and The Spastic Children's Association School.

Launched last July, the fund was dedicated to supporting organisations as part of StarHub's community program, with emphasis on those with special needs.

Starting today, StarHub also pledges 1 percent of the revenue earned from its IDD 008 and I-Call 018 services, or S$500,000 (whichever is higher), to the IDD Empowerment Fund. IDD 008 is the company's premium international calling service, while I-Call 018 is its economical international calling service.
