ICN provides enterprises, carriers and service providers with voice and data networks, including solutions for broadband access.
The new head, Guenther Braeuning, is responsible for the management as well as operational decisions of both ICN and Siemens' Information and Communication Mobile Networks & Solutions, the company said in a statement today. The latter focuses on mobile phone technologies and applications.
Braeuning, who replaces Christian Unterberger, was previously the vice president of Siemens' carrier sales in Munich. He comes with 25 years of working experience in the company, holding both technical and management positions in Asia and Europe.
Unterberger, meanwhile, "has taken up a new portfolio in Munich," the statement said.
In the year ended September 2001, ICN employed 51,000 people worldwide, and posted total sales of 12.9 billion euros.
