China Mobile has confirmed it is currently in discussions to introduce Apple's iPhone to the Chinese market.
Speaking with reporters on the sidelines of the GSMA Mobile Asia Congress this week in the Chinese territory of Macau, company CEO Wang Jianzhou said China Mobile--the country's largest mobile carrier--is in talks with Apple to bring the mobile device to the Asian country.
Wang, however, noted that both companies have yet to reach an agreement, according to a report from The Associated Press. He added that differences over revenue-sharing models will need to be ironed out first.
The iPhone was officially launched in the United States earlier this year, and made its European debut last week.
Apple has announced plans to introduce the device in Asia next year, but has yet to firm up an official launch date. The U.S. company is said to be in talks with various operators across the Asian region.
