SINGAPORE--Networking company 3Com has appointed ACA Pacific as a distributor to market 3Com's range of converged voice and data networking products in the country.
ACA Pacific's managing director Mark Gill, said in a statement Wednesday the IT distribution services provider would be providing its resellers "comprehensive sales support, marketing expertise as well as solutions training". Established in 1988, ACA Pacific has over 800 channel partners across the Asia-Pacific region, and has offices in Singapore, Australia, Malaysia and Thailand.
According to Peter Chai, 3Com's Asia-Pacific vice president and general manager, the deal builds on 3Com's enhanced partner program launched in November. The initiative encourages resellers to specialize in the areas of IP (Internet Protocol) telephony, wireless networking, enterprise LAN applications, and the SMB (small and midsize businesses) customer segment.
Apart from ACA Pacific, 3Com has two other distributors in Singapore--Ingram Micro and Jardine OneSolution. 3Com has 27 distributors across the region including Australia and New Zealand.
In September 2007, news broke that 3Com would be acquired by private equity company Bain Capital and Huawei Technologies in a US$2.2 billion cash deal.
