Communications systems integrator 3D Networks has lost its second chief executive in as many years, with Nick Avakian having left the company less than a year after taking its reins.
A spokesperson for the company was not immediately available to confirm whether Avakian had left of his own accord, but the company this morning announced the appointment of a new chief executive, former Agilent Technologies, Hewlett-Packard, Hitachi, Logical Networks, Macquarie Telecom and EMC executive Rod Taylor.
Avakian led 3D Networks from September 2008, joining the company from Nortel, where he was the general manager of the troubled company's enterprise business in Australia and New Zealand. He replaced Chris Luxford, who was CEO of 3D Networks for the previous three years but had stepped down to lead a consulting company he had formed.
Avakian's LinkedIn profile currently lists his status as "searching for my next role".
3D Networks describes itself as the number one systems integrator for troubled Canadian communications vendor Nortel, which is in the process of being broken up. The integrator also announced the appointment today of a new national sales director, Eduardo Piriz; strategic solutions partner manager, Kathryn Power; and national professional services director, Andrew Park.
