Short Take: Compaq combines South Asia, Indochina ops

SINGAPORE--Compaq Computer Asia has consolidated its South Asia and Indochina operations into one region--called South Asia Indochina (SAIC).

"We see both regions having enormous opportunities, (and) operating as a single entity gives us the chance to maximize economies of scale as all countries under these regions are at a similar socio-economic developmental stages," said Tan Choon Seng, vice president and managing director, Asean/SAIC region, Compaq Computer Asia.
