S'pore reports uneventful day on Sep 9

SINGAPORE--Singapore's National Computer Board said it did not receive any reports of date-related computer failure today.

Today is the ninth day of the ninth month of 1999 (9/9/99) and it was seen as a possible trigger date for older computers. The number 9999 is often used in the Cobol programming language to denote an end of process. This can cause computer programs to stop.
