HONG KONG--Internet Service Provider (ISP) Asia Online is continuing to expand its presence in Australia with the acquisition of three more ISPs.
The company announced that it has acquired Brisbane Internet Technologies, The Message eXchange of Sydney and Adelaide's Dove.
These will join Internet Access Australia of Melbourne, Interact of Canberra and New Zealand's Auckland-based Internet Company as part of Asia Online's Down Under initiatives.
According to president and chief executive Kevin Randolph, Australia and New Zealand are key to Asia Online's strategy to create a pan-Pacific network of business oriented Internet providers.
He also said the company, which recently raised US$35 million in private equity funding from a syndicate led by J.P. Morgan, was looking for further acquisitions in both Australia and New Zealand, as well as in other countries in the region.
