SINGAPORE--Internet advertising solutions provider DoubleClick and Internet content company asiacontent.com today launched joint venture DoubleClick Asia with operations in Taiwan, Singapore and Hong Kong.
DoubleClick already has operations in Australia and Japan in the Asia Pacific region. The new joint venture expands its Asian coverage to include three more countries. It now represents 22 countries in the world working with more than 3,000 advertisers and 490 Internet publishers.
A China and Malaysian operation will also be set up.
DoubleClick Asia will sell advertising on behalf of regional Web sites in English and local languages. Those who have signed up include community Web site Coolconnect managed by National Computer Board's Online Technology Consortium, Macromedia Asia Pacific, CBS Market Watch, Asia E! Online and soon to launch sports site SoccerAsia.
"In addition to helping local advertisers connect with their local customers within the Asian market, DoubleClick Asia will also enable multinational advertisers to more effectively target their customer markets both inside and outside of Asia," said Barry Salzman, president of DoubleClick.
