SINGAPORE--The National Computer Board (NCB) has organized a competition to get the most innovative broadband idea for a business.
The contest, called ONEChallenge, will allow entrepreneurs to test their broadband business ideas and prototypes. The winner will walk away with S$30,000 in cash.
Said NCB chief executive, Michael Yap: "ONEChallenge is one of our initiatives to position Singapore as a centre for multimedia excellence. We encourage creative individuals to push the limits of technology, exploiting the power of Singapore ONE."
The contest is open to both Singaporeans and non-Singaporeans either as an individual or as a team. All registrations have to be submitted online by Dec 31.
Contestants' broadband business plans and prototype ideas should be submitted by Jan 15 next year. Judges include venture capitalists and industry leaders. The results will be announced in March.
Online workshops will be set up to help contestants with business planning and legal issues.
