The move is in response to reader demand, according to magazine executives, who are scheduled to announce the new publication schedule Monday.
Business 2.0, published by Imagine Media and based in Brisbane, Calif., has grown rapidly since its inception in August 1998. The December issue is its thickest to date, with 336 pages, more than half of which are filled with advertisements.
The magazine's circulation has also leaped, from 160,000 to 210,000.
"Our growth has surpassed even the most optimistic industry estimates," said James Daly, editor of the magazine. Daly was features editor at Wired magazine before joining Business 2.0 in late 1997.
The new plans call for an increase in staff, from 12 to about 25, and for the opening of editorial offices in New York.
"The Net economy is the business story of our day," Daly said. "There are so many good stories out there."
Business 2.0 is not the only publication reaping benefits from the tech boom.
Last week, a Deutsche Bank Alex Brown analyst said in a report that U.S. newspaper publishers are benefiting from robust national advertising sales, aided by an influx of Internet businesses looking for exposure.
