SINGAPORE--High-speed Internet access provider SingTel Magix has entered into a partnership with Exent Technologies to offer an Application Service Provider (ASP) hosting service dubbed Education on Demand (EOD).

EOD will provide Magix subscribers with more than 100 educational CD-ROM titles online, which includes games and training materials.

With this new service, the broadband community will not have to buy CD-ROMs or install software as the content is streamed remotely from the server and delivered online via the Magix network, SingTel said in a statement.

SingTel Magix customers will be able to 'click-and-play' to access the vast number of educational titles.

"Our close partnership with publishers and technology partners will enable us to bring a wide range of broadband content services to end users at the click of a mouse," said SingTel chief executive officer (Multimedia) Leong Shin Loong.

"With this agreement, SingTel Magix is showing the business potential offered by delivering applications over broadband networks, and meeting the needs of their customers in a new and dynamic way," said Exent Technologies chief executive officer Zvi Levgoren.

EOD covers a wide range of subjects such as English, Mathematics, Chinese, Science and Humanities.

The content comes from several well-known international and local publishers including A Star Interactive, Berkeley Multimedia, Daiichi Media, Datasun Software Corp, Ednovation, Eklectica International and Times Learning Systems.
