Web portals' next push?

The next direction for Web portals to expand may be in forming content and marketing partnerships with retailers and online services, as planned AOL and Yahoo deals suggest.

 


AOL, Sears to team in cross-marketing effort
The online giant and the retailer say they will team in a joint marketing alliance and will develop a version of AOL's software for Sears' customers.

AOL, Open Table strike marketing deal
OpenTable.com and America Online are set to announce they will team to allow customers to book restaurant reservations over AOL's Digital City sites.

Yahoo to partner with ConsumerReview
The two companies will announce later this week that they are teaming to provide product reviews for the online portal's shopping section.
