A statement by Maybank said the online transaction service was currently available from 6.00 am to 12.00 midnight and would be extended to 24 hours a day by the end of the year.

In addition, Maybank2u offered the investing public online stock information, news feeds from Bernama and Reuters as well as financial planning tools and information. These were available 24 hours.

In conjunction with the launch of Maybank2u, the bank also announced the introduction of i-Account, a unique online deposit account that paid interest based on fixed deposit rates and allowed a customer to view his/her statement online.

With a minimum initial deposit of RM500, the i-Account offered interest calculated daily and paid monthly, optional cheque book facilities as well as free personal accident insurance coverage of up to RM50,000.
