In a statement today, he said GPRS would have a major impact on Malaysians as it would enable to interact fully on the Internet at a higher speed.
"The procurement of the additional GPRS network elements is in progress and Time dotCom is confident of a year-end roll out," it added.
GPRS is a high speed wireless data network that can support a data speed of up to 115 kilobytes compared to the present 9.6 kilobytes.
Time dotCom is convinced its customers would enjoy high speed Internet access, always on-line and volume-based charging which translates into better cost efficiency for customers.
GPRS will also allow for seamless audio and video capabilities via a mobile Internet device due to the faster transmission rates.
