KUALA LUMPUR--VMS Technology, developer and manufacturer of computer telephony (CT) products is set to venture into the Indian shores.

The local company has formed a strategic alliance with Neutron Electronics Pvt. Ltd, a newly set up division of Indian based telecommunication technology company, Neutron InfoTech, the company said in a statement.

Neutron Electronics will market and sell Telecare to the Indian market and will first target its existing customer base.

Developed locally by VMS Technology, TeleCare is a suite of messaging systems for different types of communications, for example, voices, fax and email and is also claimed to be able to be facilitated via a variety of interfaces and devices.

Neutron Electronics will also use TeleCare in its advanced architecture call center management system.

India is the fourth country in the region VMS Technology is expanding into. At present it has channel partners in countries such as Taiwan, Singapore and Hong Kong.

"With its network spanning the whole of India, experienced technical and management team and alliances with world's leading telecommunication companies, we believe Neutron is the best company to distribute VMS Technology's TeleCare," said VMS Technology president Yong Kok Leong.

Neutron Electronics' other alliances include communication giants such as PictureTel Corporation, Dictaphone, General Datacomm and Polycom and Expert Systems.

VMS Technology is headquartered in Kuala Lumpur with subsidiaries in Singapore, Hong Kong and China. It has more than 400 distributors and resellers in more than 20 different countries.
