SINGAPORE--There's a new Palm "companion" lurking around. Only this time, it's not a fancy accessory; rather, a new Palm virus called PalmOS/Phage.963.

McAfee AVERT (Anti-Virus Emergency Response Team) has confirmed that the virus is destructive. When executed, the (PDA) screen is filled with a dark gray box and the application is terminated.

The virus then infects all third party applications on the PDA, it said.

McAfee AVERT is an anti-virus research organization with over 65 researchers worldwide.

Full report to follow.
