The new office, this time in Shenzhen, will serve "to boost the group's established presence in Hong Kong and Suzhou, thereby enabling Unidux to better tap the growing People's Republic of China (PRC) market," the company said in a statement to the Singapore Exchange today.
There are also plans to set up offices in the Bangsaothong district in Thailand as well as in Johor Bahru and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia by year end.
The Singapore-based company currently has operations and warehousing facilities in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.
"We intend to leverage on our...business model to..quickly intensify our operations in Asia and capture market share in Asia. We are driven by our corporate philosophy of being in close proximity to our (old and new) customers," said Unidux managing director Tan Yew Teong in the statement.
The group claims to represent over 200 suppliers, supplying more than 60 product groups of electronic components. Its other business segments include referrals, procurement services, general trading and distribution of electronic components, online trading and the provision of IT services.
