As part of this expansion, the IT services company last week opened a new development facility in Banglalore. The center, which currently houses 1,200 employees, will be able to support 2,200 workers by year end, LogicaCMG said in a statement.
The new facility is the firm's primary offshore development site, serving customers like U.S.-based T-Mobile International and U.K.'s Britannia Airways, as well as regional clients in markets like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan.
"India is the fastest-growing operation of LogicaCMG worldwide and will be the third largest operation by headcount after the United Kingdom and the Netherlands by the end of 2005," said LogicaCMG Chief Executive Martin Read.
"It forms a critical component of our global blended delivery model that we use to provide outsourcing solutions to our clients. Our new facility is further proof of our commitment to India," he added.
LogicaCMG's outsourcing business contributed about 25 percent of total revenues last year. The company hopes to increase the figure to 30 percent by the end of 2005.
