Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) has established a contact center to provide support services to its customers and partners in the Asia-Pacific region, which the company said is the first of its kind in the region that caters to storage deployments.

Located at Chulan Towers in Malaysia's capital city Kuala Lumpur, the new facility occupies 12,500 square feet office space and has a staff strength of 40 people, which HDS plans to increase by 30 percent over the next five years, according to the storage vendor.

Dubbed Deal Operations Center, the hub will provide support services in the areas of solution configuration, inventory allocation, pricing strategy, and audit and compliance, to the HDS' regional sales teams and channel partners in twelve countries: Australia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, China, the Philippines, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.

The center will also allow "real-time updating of account information and requirements", where the company's sales teams can have greater access to up-to-date information, HDS said.

"With the Deal Operations Center, our sales teams and partners in this region will be better supported and equipped to respond to our customers within a shorter timeframe," Michael Cremen, Asia-Pacific senior vice president and general manager at HDS, said in a statement.
