Nokia's BP-6M battery, which is used by seven Nokia mobile phone models, may cause an explosion when charging, according to Hong Kong media.
The seven models include: N73, N93, 3250, 6233, 6280, 9300 and 9300i,
Nokia China says that at the moment they have yet to determine whether the battery is the original battery from Nokia. At press time, there has been no report of explosion of the battery in mainland China.
Nokia does not manufacture batteries. Instead, it commissions OEMs to make original batteries, and it is unknown which OEM made the battery in question.
In August last year, Nokia recalled 46 million mobile-phone batteries made by Panasonic and promised to exchange a new battery for consumers free of charge. However, some consumers quoted by local media complained that they have not received their free new batteries.
