Sealed in July through a public tender, the ministry will deploy Interwoven’s flagship product--TeamSite--to manage its online presence.
TeamSite allows content aggregation, collaboration, management and distribution.
“We hope to introduce a standard look and feel for our Web site and intranet,” said an MOE spokesman. “The deployment will also enable our staff to conveniently upload and publish content.”
Othe recent Interwoven customer wins include Samsung Electronics in Korea, Sharp in Japan, Shanghai Stock Exchange, Cathay Life Insurance in Taiwan and the University of New South Wales in Australia.
Interwoven competes with companies like Documentum and Vignette in the content management software space, programs that allow businesses to create a central location for workers to share, manipulate and store documents.
Founded by Singaporean Ong Peng Tsin in March 1995, the firm has direct operations in Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Korea, Australia, Japan, and Singapore, its regional headquarters.
